Abseiling - Team Membership
There are a number of levels for Activity Guides and Leaders available covering artificial structures (mainly towers) and natural (both single- and multi-pitch cliff) abseiling activities.
The levels of leader are:
Participant - designed for youth members and adults in training, this is a supervised position.
Guide - for adult leaders, normally as members of the team conducting the activity. This position is the minimum adult level and often relates to artificial structure activities or cliff sites, as part of ongoing training.
Leader - for adult members, this position allows the incumbent to lead an abseiling activity within their endorsement, i.e. single- or multi-pitch).
Instructor - for adult members, this position is an extension of the Activity Leader and encompasses activity training endorsement.
All Leaders over the age of 18 must hold a Working with Children and current First Aid (minimum Lvl2 OH&S) to be able to act within the activity and have contact with youth members.
