Who are SAAV?

Scout Air Activities Victoria is operated by a team of Scouting members who are part of the Victorian Branch of Scouts Australia. All flying activities are operated as a charter operation under the rules and regulations governed by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.

How do I join the SAAV Team?

If you just keep your eyes on the ground when you hear an aircraft or otherwise interested in aviation and planes? Then you are the type of person SAAV is looking for and we will provide all required training. To join the SAAV Team please contact us via the contact page. Of course SAAV is always looking for pilots and ground crew to assist, especially as we seem to be getting busier each year.

What aircraft does SAAV use?

The SAAV predominately use Piper Warror, 4-seater aircraft (pilot and 3 passengers). In 2007 at AJ2007 Jamboree, SAAV used 13 Cessna 172S aircraft that were brand new, in their flying operations.

Where does the SAAV operate from?

Mostly SAAV operates from Moorabbin Airport and can, by request of groups, operate from certain country or regional airports. Contact us through the contact page to see if we can come to you.  Click here to see our location map and full details.

What qualifications do the pilots have?

All pilots are highly experienced have current commercial pilot licenses issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and have regular flight checks with a Chief Flying Instructor for the SAAV.
