The Great Dividing Trail (Ballarat to Bendigo)

The Bendigo Mountain Bike Club manage some great bike tracks in the Regional Park, which is right behind Koolamurt Park Scout Camp.  Each year the Bendigo Mountain Bike Club hold a race called the Epic which starts and finishes at Koolamurt Park.  There are so many tracks that locals can ride a different one each week and don't have to worry about congestion!

Accommodation is available at Koolamurt Park for any groups keen to try out the tracks and enjoy a hot shower and warm fire at the end of the day.

The whole of the Great Dividing Trail (GDT) is now primarily shared use, with walker-only and MTB-only diversions signposted. The GDT is made up of four main tracks:

  • The Lerderberg Track (Bacchus Marsh to Daylesford: 71km)
  • Federation Track (Ballarat to Daylesford: 72km)
  • Dry Diggings Track (Daylesford to Castlemaine: 57km)
  • Leanganook Track (Castlemaine to Bendigo: 58km)
