Book An Activity

Due to changes in Scouting and Private lives we will not be taking any section booking for the forseeable future. Sorry for the inconvenience

What is a GPSr.

A GPSr or GPS receiver is a device that receives Global Positioning System (GPS) signals to determine the device's location on Earth. GPSr devices provide latitude and longitude information.

What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at the location.

Who is GeoScouts Australia?

GeoScouts Australia is the Victorian Branch Geocaching Activity Team. GeoScouts Australia was started by a group of Scouters who were interested in using GPSr and Geocaching with the intent of sharing their knowledge by teaching members of all Scouting sections how to use GPSrs and the fun that can be had with the sport or Geocaching.

What we do for you.

GeoScouts Australia will come to your hall, campsite or park and run a complete activity to suit your timeframe from 1 hour to a weekend. We cater for all sections from Joeys to Adults and will run the activity with varied degrees of difficulty and technical information to suit. We will come to your preferred location prior to the activity and set up a custom Geocaching course.

All navigation equipment required for the activity is supplied so there is nothing for you to do but sit back and enjoy the activity.

All personal equipment, such as torch, coat, hat, sunscreen, etc, is to be supplied be the participants.

Cost.

All we ask for our time is a gold coin donation per youth member to cover the cost of batteries and the upkeep of our equipment.
