Lerderderg Region

Our Region comprises six Districts across eight Local Government Authorities .

Geographically the Region is deceptively large covering some 5,188 square kilometres.

The Lerderderg River is one of the geographic features lying at the western edge of the Region and most famous for creating the Lerderderg Gorge.

The Gorge represents some 500 million years of geological activity creating a 300 metre deep gorge traversing some 20 kilometres. Prolonged drought has left the Gorge dry and empty but rains this year have suddenly filled this natural monument bringing new life to the area.

Our districts are Kororoit, Werribee Plains, Kariwara ,Moonee Valley, Macedon Ranges, Djerriwarrh.
