One of the Radio and Electronics Team's (SRESU’s) core objectives is radio related Training & Assessment. The SRESU has qualified Instructors and Assessors who instruct, train and assess youth members and Leaders who wish to obtain one of the amateur radio licences [Foundation, Standard and Advanced] or Marine Radio Certificates of Proficiency made available by the Australian Communications & Media Authority (ACMA) and the Wireless Institute of Australia (WIA) Amateur Radio Courses or University of Tasmania in the case of Marine Radio.
The Radio and Electronics Team's (SRESU) is generally available, on request, to conduct training courses within the Melbourne Metropolitan area as well as in Country locations. The nominal minimum numbers required for our training courses is 5 for a course in the Metropolitan area and 10 for a Country Region however this is negotiable . The suggested maximum number of course participants is 15. If you feel that you could build sufficient numbers in your District or Region to run a course, please feel free to discuss with our training officer or State Leader Radio.
